Fees and Rebates
The cost of seeing a psychologist varies depending on which rebates you can claim. The upfront fee for a 55 minute session is $230, and you may be able to claim some back on Medicare or . This fee is below the Australian Psychological Society’s (APS) recommended fee of $318 per hour. Please see below for more details.
Private Clients $230
The standard session fee is $230. No doctor’s referral or private health cover is required.
With Medicare Rebate $131.05
Clients pay the upfront fee of $230, and receive $98.95 back from Medicare.
This is for clients referred by their GP or Psychiatrist with a Mental Health Treatment Plan. See your GP to find out if you are eligible.
With Private Health Insurance
Depending on your level of cover, there is usually a gap fee.
No doctor's referral is required. Please see your insurer for cover details.
BUPA ADF
As per the current BUPA ADF fee schedule. There is no gap fee for BUPA ADF clients.
